CLAAS centenary celebrations at Harper Adams

GERMAN agricultural machinery manufacturer, CLAAS, is celebrating 100 years of research and innovation by sponsoring a series of international conferences, with Harper Adams University hosting the UK event.

‘Precision Farming Challenges in the 21st Century’ is being held on July 4 at Harper Adams University in Shropshire, which is home to the National Centre for Precision Farming (NCPF).

The aim of the event is to stimulate research, application and innovation by agricultural engineers, farmers, land owners, academics and policy makers.

Speaking at the event is a host of European speakers from as far afield as the Czech Republic, Greece and Finland, as well as the UK.

Presentations are taking place and there will also be the opportunity for delegates to network and view machinery demonstrations.

Professor Simon Blackmore, Head of Engineering at Harper Adams, said: “We are delighted that CLAAS has asked us to hold a conference at Harper Adams.

“The event will explore topics such as controlled traffic farming and agricultural machinery and data integration, as well as give a farmer’s view on precision farming.

“We believe this will prove an excellent opportunity for delegates to really get to grips with the field of precision farming, as well as see for themselves live demonstrations of the technologies.”
