Well-qualified students encourage to apply

Harper Adams University College is pleased to advise that it will have a limited number of places available through Clearing for well-qualified students.

Demand to study at the Shropshire-based campus has been greater than ever this year, bucking the trend which has seen university applications generally fall.

Harper Adams has already achieved its core student number target for this September, however the Government’s new policy of allowing universities to recruit more students with a minimum of AAB at A-level or three Distinctions in their Level 3 Extended Diploma, or equivalent, means there are still opportunities in most course areas for high achievers.

The University College is the country’s leading land-based higher education provider - it has held the accolade of the Sunday Times University College of the Year for five years and has recently announced that its graduate employability rate is higher than 98%.

Principal, Dr David Llewellyn, said: “We open our phone lines at 8am on Thursday August 16, which is A-level results day, and staff will be on-hand to help and advise students interested in applying to us through Clearing.

“We encourage anyone who is well-qualified and interested in coming to Harper Adams this September to ring us as soon as they receive their results so that we can discuss options with them.”

The Clearing telephone number is 01952 815000. Information about the courses available through Clearing will also be online at www.harper-adams.ac.uk/clearing.

The Harper Adams Admissions Team will only be able to consider an applicant if they meet or exceed the entry requirements as published at www.ucas.com and on course webpages.

To support students in making their choice, Harper Adams is running a Clearing open day on Monday August 20, 11am-3pm. This is for students applying through Clearing for September 2012 entry only and is a chance to view the campus and talk to course team members, as well as discuss accommodation, career and placement opportunities and learner support services, with staff.

More information about the open day will be provided when students ring the Admissions Office to enquiry about Clearing places.  Applicants should call 01952 815000 to book a place at the Clearing open day.
