‘Dionysus’ robot to help winegrowers

Farmers around the world will be able to improve their irrigation efficiency thanks to an autonomous vineyard robot developed at Harper Adams University. ‘Dionysus’ has been created to use thermal imaging sensors to detect moisture levels in grape vines. This data will then be used to inform farmers as to whether irrigation is required. Young engineers organise group trip to Hanover showHarper Adams engineers have finished the autumn term in high spirits, after a trip to Agritechnica in Germany left them with a renewed passion for their subject, and great optimism for their future careers.
