Manufacturers across the south east of England are being urged to showcase their achievements in one of the UK’s most prestigious regional and national awards programmes. The EEF Future Manufacturing Awards, sponsored by Infor, achieved outstanding success in the first year in 2009 – and many of the companies on the roll of honour were based in the south east of England. “Manufacturing is a key contributor to the regional economy, and these awards enable local companies to shout about their achievements and to benefit from raising their profile as a leader in their industry segment,” says Jeff Alexander, Head of External Affairs for EEF in the south east of England. The Awards are free to enter and are open to all UK manufacturers. The awards will first be judged across the South East, with the regional winners then competing for one of the national awards. Deadline for entries is July 31. Infor marketing director Emma Rainey said: ”Sponsoring the awards and being part of the local and national judging panels last year gave a fantastic insight into the level of enthusiasm and innovation that is rife in the British economy.” For more information, go to http://www.eef.org.uk/awards/ The awards categories are: Enterprise sponsored by Westfield Health - The Business Growth Award - The Skills Award Innovation sponsored by JAM Recruitment - The Innovative Working Practices Award - The Innovative People Practices Award Environment sponsored by British Gas Business – Energy 360 - The Environmental Efficiency Award - The Climate Change Opportunity Award Apprentice Awards sponsored by EAL (Emta Awards Ltd) - The Outstanding Achievement by a First Year Apprentice - The Outstanding Achievement by a Final Year Apprentice Ends Media enquiries to: Philip Colley, Harvest Tel: 023 9244 9655
