Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire – Thursday 27 August, 2009; The Coopers Square rooftop car park will reopen on Saturday 29 August thanks to essential maintenance works being completed ahead of schedule, giving Burton-upon-Trent shoppers a convenient and cost effective parking facility.

A hidden gem in the centre of Burton-upon-Trent, the car park is ideally situated off New Street with 200 spaces available for shoppers and visitors to the town centre. Completely resurfaced, the enhanced facility boasts a new clearly signed one-way system and dedicated pedestrian walkways with a lift that takes shoppers direct to the main shopping mall, disembarking in one easy stop near to BHS. Costing just £5 per day for weekday parking with a reduced rate of £1.50 on Sundays, £1 for up to two hours and £2.50 for between two and four hours, the rooftop car park offers a budget friendly town centre parking option. Grosvenor Shopping Centre Fund, owner of Coopers Square, took over the management of the car park last October, paving the way for the improved parking facility. Dave Chadfield, Coopers Square Centre Manager, commented: “It’s fantastic to be able to open our new-look rooftop car park, which couldn’t offer shoppers a more convenient parking facility. As news of the car park’s improvement works spread, I was amazed that some people weren’t even aware that the shopping centre now managed its own rooftop parking. With our celebratory banners to mark its location, official reopening and unchanged parking rates, I hope our visitors can now make even better use of our on-site facility.” -Ends- Notes to Editors In 1999, the Coopers Square shopping centre was acquired by Grosvenor – the leading international property development, investment and management group – for its Grosvenor Shopping Centre Fund.
