Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire – Friday 16 October, 2009; Coopers Square has welcomed no fewer than four new stores to the premier Burton upon Trent shopping centre in the past month. Baguette du Monde, Designer Outlet, Past Times and Poundworld have all recently opened in the centre, offering shoppers even more choice.

Baguette du Monde, the West Midlands premier baguette chain, chose Coopers Square to roll out the first of its fantastic new look stores. More than just a baguette bar where each baguette is made fresh in-store, Baguette du Monde offers a new, improved, menu including extensive breakfast options, pasta dishes, baked potatoes, coffee, cakes and pastries. Jonathan Clarke, Marketing Manager at Baguette du Monde, commented: “With the help and support of the Coopers Square management team we have created a store with a pleasant atmosphere at the centre of the thriving shopping complex. The new store looks great, but our customers remain at the heart of our improvements, as without them none of this would be possible. We look forward to welcoming everyone to our store and hope Coopers Square shoppers take full advantage of our fresh, daily prepared food.” Designer Outlet offers the latest in sports, fashion clothing and footwear. Visit the new store on Swan Walk to take advantage of the massive savings on top name brands including Lacoste, Paul & Shark, Timberland, Rockport, Onitsuka Tiger, Adidas and Nike. With around 80 discount stores across England, Poundworld’s newest store recently opened on Underhill Walk, offering amazing value everyday products. Commenting, Mark Ward at Poundworld said: “We have been delighted with the positive response we have received from our customers at Coopers Square. There is obviously a demand for our type of offer in the area and we will continue to bring top brands and fantastic new lines to the store to ensure a loyal customer base.” Past Times, also located on Swan Walk, specialises in developing and selling quality products inspired by important design periods throughout history. The variety of products is extraordinary, ranging from household accessories and jewellery to gifts, toys, clothes, books and DVDs. Founded in 1986 as a mail order company, Past Times now boasts over 90 stores throughout the UK and Ireland. Coopers Square Centre Manager, Dave Chadfield, commented: “It’s fantastic to see our recently vacated units so quickly occupied and I’m pleased to welcome all of our new retailers to Coopers Square. The centre looks vibrant and the new stores bring an exciting new offer for our visitors, with something for everyone. “Just two Coopers Square units are currently vacant but we already have encouraging enquiries for both stores. It’s really positive to see so much ongoing interest in the centre, especially building up to the festive season.” As well as boasting great new stores, Coopers Square’s rooftop car park was recently completed presenting the perfect parking solution for shoppers. Situated off New Street, the car park boasts 200 spaces and direct access to Coopers Square. Parking costs just £5 per day on weekdays, £1 for up to two hours, £2.50 for between two and four hours, and £1.50 on Sundays. Dave Chadfield continued: “We’ve had a fantastic response to the opening of the refurbished rooftop car park, the use of which has increased week-on-week. With some great new shops to explore and convenient car parking that doesn’t cost the earth, it’s great to see shoppers and local residents taking advantage of all Coopers Square has to offer.” -Ends- Notes to Editors In 1999, the Coopers Square shopping centre was acquired by Grosvenor – the leading international property development, investment and management group – for its Grosvenor Shopping Centre Fund.
