Poole, Dorset – Tuesday 22 September, 2009; You can get a ‘feel good’ feeling from kicking back with a cuppa and supporting Macmillan Cancer Support and the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning at the Dolphin Shopping Centre on Friday 25 September. Coffee shops, cafés and stores alike are joining forces to support the nationwide event to help raise funds and provide much needed support to people affected by cancer.

Last year’s campaign saw more than 45,000 people hold coffee mornings across the UK, generating over £7.5million. The efforts of Dolphin Shopping Centre stores helped to add over £700 towards that total and this year the aim is to raise even more money. In 2009, Macmillan Cancer Support needs to raise a massive £8million to help fund its vital cancer services, from specialist nurses, to grants for people with cancer who have financial problems because of their illness. Dolphin Shopping Centre stores Marks & Spencer, Card Factory, Early Learning Centre, Julian Graves, Jacqueline’s Exclusive Collection, Lumin-Essence, Marc Young and Shakeaway are all supporting this year’s event with in-store collection boxes and a variety of fun activities planned. Make your cuppa count in Marks & Spencer where Café Revive will be going green for Macmillan for the day, while Marc Young customers can enjoy a cake with their complimentary cuppa on Friday, thanks to the staff’s culinary efforts. You don’t have to drink tea or coffee to be a part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – visit Shakeaway on Kingland Crescent for some unique milkshake refreshments, where staff will be dressing down in their pyjamas for the day. At Julian Graves, customers can guess the number of jelly beans in a jar for just £1 a go, with proceeds split 50/50 between Macmillan and the winning entry. Jacqueline’s Exclusive Collection will also be a major supporter on the day. Located on the Gallery Level, the company has supplied wigs to cancer patients for over 15 years and supported patients from both Bournemouth and Poole hospitals in coping with hair loss as a result of Chemotherapy. Chrissie Wathen-Neal, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan in Dorset, commented: “We are very grateful to the Dolphin Shopping Centre, its stores and of course customers, for supporting the event again this year. By taking part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning, you will help fund important services that change the lives of people affected by cancer. And for that, we think everyone involved should feel good!” Stephanie Connelly, Dolphin Shopping Centre Manager, said: “This is a fantastic event and it’s great to see so many of our stores joining together in support of one worthy cause. Macmillan Cancer Support not only provides a much-needed service across the UK but gives invaluable support to cancer patients and their families here in Poole. I hope our shoppers will really get behind the day and support the event because every penny counts and makes a difference.” For further information on Macmillan Cancer Support and the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning visit www.macmillan.org.uk -Ends- Media Photo Opportunity - Dolphin Shopping Centre tenants participating in the Macmillan Cancer Support World’s Biggest Coffee Morning Date: Friday 25 September 2009 Time: 10.30am Venue: The Square, outside Druckers in the Dolphin Shopping Centre Notes to Editors In 2003, The Dolphin Shopping Centre was acquired by Grosvenor – the leading international property development, investment and management group – for its Grosvenor Shopping Centre Fund.
