Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire – Monday, July 26, 2010; Coopers Square shoppers are in for a treat on Wednesday, August 4, when Mr Bump will be making his first ever visit to the Burton upon Trent shopping centre.

The iconic Mr Men characters have entertained children across many generations and Mr Bump’s special visit bump-starts Coopers Square’s schedule of free family fun events and children’s TV character appearances taking place throughout the school summer holidays. Mr Men fans of all ages are sure to relish the opportunity to meet Mr Bump ahead of the 40th anniversary of the first Mr Men book created by Roger Hargreaves and published by Egmont, which will be celebrated in 2011. Mr Bump will make special appearances throughout Coopers Square on August 4 at 11am, 12pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm, when younger fans will also enjoy the storytelling sessions held in the Main Square. Dave Chadfield, Coopers Square Centre Manager, said: “We are delighted to welcome Mr Bump to Coopers Square for the first time as part of the centre’s programme of free family summer events. Children’s character appearances always prove popular with our shoppers and we hope visits from new characters along with some seasoned favourites will help keep both children and parents amused throughout the school holidays.” While having fun catching up with Mr Bump, fans should also check out the official Mr Men and Little Miss merchandise on offer throughout Coopers Square stores, including a great selection of books, box sets, clothing, accessories and DVDs at the Early Learning Centre, Bhs, Boots, HMV and Waterstone’s. Coopers Square shoppers have more children’s TV character visits to look forward to this summer, with Peppa Pig and George appearing on Wednesday, August 18, while Fifi and Bumble will buzz back to Burton on Bank Holiday Monday, August 30.
