Winners Announced for HFMA’s 2014 MAP Award for Performance Improvement in Revenue Cycle
Chicago – August 14, 2014 – Today, the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) announced the winners of the 2014 MAP Award for Performance Improvement in Revenue Cycle.
The MAP Award for Performance Improvement recognizes healthcare organizations that demonstrate measurable improvement in MAP Keys – key performance indicators that set the standard for revenue cycle excellence in the healthcare industry. This year's winners of the Performance Improvement Award have shown how their targeted improvement initiatives have improved financial performance.
“The winners of the MAP Award for Performance Improvement have demonstrated a commitment not only to excellence but also to driving results,” said HFMA president and CEO Joseph J. Fifer, FHFMA, CPA. “Their approach to performance improvement can be of great benefit to others in the field.”

- Holy Name Medical Center; Teaneck, NJ
- Lafayette General Medical Center; Lafayette, LA
“I am very pleased with the significant progress that our staff has made to improve the quality of Rice’s Accounts Receivable,” said Bill Fenske, Chief Financial Officer, Rice Memorial Hospital, “At Rice, we measure the quantity of A/R as well as the quality of A/R. We have consistently produced excellent quantitative metrics in terms of Days in A/R and this is a testament to our staff’s role in improving the quality of A/R. This is also a tribute to Jackie Hinderks, Rice’s Director of Revenue Cycle, for her leadership, and to the staff for their excellent work. Winners of the award will be honored during a special presentation at MAP Event, HFMA's revenue cycle conference, which runs from November 2-4, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV. The MAP Award for Performance Improvement in Revenue Cycle is sponsored by Parallon Business Solutions.
