Heart Aerospace presents new Industry Advisory Board
Swedish electric airplane maker Heart Aerospace today presented a new Industry Advisory Board for its first electric airplane, the ES-30. The board consists of 21 members representing airlines, leasing companies and airports from all over the world.
“We aim to electrify regional air travel, but we cannot do this alone. Decarbonizing air travel requires a collective effort,” said Anders Forslund, founder and CEO of Heart Aerospace. “With our partnerships we can impact the entire aviation ecosystem from creating more efficient airplanes to enabling more accessible airports. All of which bring convenience, affordability and responsibility to the flying public.”
Aerus, Air Canada, Air New Zealand, Braathens Regional Airlines, CDB Aviation, Cebu Pacific, Christchurch Airport, DAT, Icelandair, London City Airport, Mesa Air Group, Republic Airways, Rockton, SAS, Sevenair, Sounds Air, Swedavia, Toki Air, United Airlines, Vmo Aircraft Leasing and Wellington Airport have all signed up to advise in the development of the ES-30.
The members of the Industry Advisory Board will assist in defining the requirements for the ES-30 and their input will aid in the development and shorten the time to entry into service.
“We believe that electric air travel can be transformational in addressing the industry’s key sustainability challenges. With the valuable input from our industry advisory board, we will build an electric airplane that can start cutting emissions well before the end of this decade,” said Simon Newitt, Chief Commercial Officer of Heart Aerospace.
The ES-30 is a regional electric airplane with a seating capacity of 30 passengers driven by electric motors powered by batteries, allowing the airplane to operate with zero operational emissions and low noise.
The airplane will also include a reserve-hybrid configuration, consisting of two turbo generators powered by sustainable aviation fuel. The reserve-hybrid system is installed to secure reserve energy requirements without cannibalizing battery range, and it can also be used during cruise on longer flights to complement the electrical power provided by the batteries.
The ES-30 will have a fully electric zero emissions range of 200 kilometers, an extended range of 400 kilometers with 30 passengers, and flexibility to fly up to 800 kilometers with 25 passengers, all including typical airline reserves.

Aerus is the newest Mexican regional airline that received authorization by the Mexican Federal Agency of Civil Aviation on May 2022 and will begin operations in the northeast of Mexico in the first quarter of 2023, covering national and later international routes.
