Enjoy sunshine, snow and free skiing in Livigno

Beware the ides of March? Not in Livigno, officially the Best European Resort 2012, which this month promises not only the first warm rays of Spring sunshine, but also retains fabulous snow conditions and the very best deals for holidaymakers. . . . including the auspicious omen of two weeks free skiing at the end of April!

From March right through April really is an ideal time to appreciate skiing and boarding in this beautiful natural playground in the heart of the Alps.

There’s never been a better way to enjoy the Italian resort’s 115km of slopes. Incredibly popular and available only in carefully selected hotels, garni (small run hotel on B&B) and apartments, this special programme means that four nights in a hotel with B&B costs only 170 Euros per person, and includes a free Skipass for every guest. A half or full board upgrade is also possible.

If you prefer to enjoy all the mod cons of your very own apartment during your stay, with a free Skipass to give you access to the piste, the price person for a stay of 7 nights starts from just 210 Euros. Best be quick though: these deals go quicker than a downhill racer!

Family fun

Livigno has long been established as a mecca for the discerning skier or boarder, who can fully appreciate its superb snow and pristine runs, all served by state-of-the-art ski lifts. However, Livigno is also ideal for snowsports novices and children. In fact, this month a special week on the snow is dedicated entirely to families.

From March 3-9, a unique teaching programme, run with the cooperation of ski schools A.M.S.I., gives children the chance to improve their snow skills, all in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere where they are safe and can meet new friends.

Every day youngsters will learn to ski or improve their technique with games, shows and activities on the snow. The fun includes ski and snowboard lessons in the morning followed by activities in the afternoon, such as races with ski teachers and families.

If you can’t make March, and, if you choose to spend your holiday of at least 4 nights in a hotel or 7 nights in an apartment from April 13 to May 1, it’s not just the sunshine and scenery that comes free – you will also be entitled to a free Lift pass!

Crystal clear thinking: Accommodation in Livigno incorporates 105 hotels, 25 garn (small hotels on B&B) and more than 1000 apartments. With so much variety to suit every taste ad budget, the only problem is choosing from among the many fantastic deals on offer at this time of year. For example, the Crystal Ski package in a resort’s three-star, based per person on half-board, costs just £579 – that’s a saving of £130 per person.

The departure date for this deal is March 10, flying from Gatwick to Innsbruck, and includes your transfers to and from Livigno. For more information on this mad March holiday and many more telephone 0871 231 2256 or visit www.crystalski.co.uk
