A New Hotel with Stunning Views of the Village Opens in December

Specialist ski company VIP SKI is opening its new super-stylish Hotel Theodul for winter 2016/2017 and is VIP SKI’s first foray into Lech in Austria. The Hotel Theodul, the third hotel to join the portfolio oozes classic Austrian charm with a twist of contemporary comfort to make it a home away from home for families to compliment the long standing hotel which was built in 1968. Martina & Dietmar Walch and their parents before them have owned and run the hotel for the last 30 years and VIP SKI is proud to be taking over this wonderful property in the beautiful resort of Lech.

The stunning Hotel Theodul has 29 spacious bedrooms and offers an enviable location close to the river on the main high street with magnificent views of Lech, the mountains and the pistes from many of the terraces and balconies around the property.

It’s just a five minute walk to the beginner’s slopes and main Rufikopf cable car to start the Lech-Zurs circuit the White Ring. It’s close enough to the buzz of village life yet perfectly accessible to the chic après ski scene of Lech.

Beginners will love the nursery slopes in the traditional village, intermediates and expert skiers will love the long, exhilarating runs from Lech as well as the world-class off-piste. Skiers can also enjoy some of the highest altitude skiing in the Alps with a vast network of cable cars and lifts that include skiing in the exclusive resorts of Warth, Schröcken, Zürs, St. Christoph, St Anton, and Stuben. New for winter 2016/17 is the construction of the Flexenbahn lift link between Zürs and Stuben/Rauz. The Trittkopfbahn cableways I and II, and the new Albonabahn II cableway, will also be built. Following the opening of these four ski lifts at the beginning of the winter season of 2016/17, the entire Arlberg skiing area will be connected via cableways. This will make the Arlberg skiing area the largest connecting ski area in Austria, boasting a total of 305 kms of downhill skiing as well as 87 lifts and cableways in one of the most varied ski regions of the world where snow is virtually guaranteed (on average 7 metres of snowfall each winter),.

A legendary region which has enjoyed cult status for as long as skiing has been a winter passion, the Arlberg is the cradle of alpine skiing and the destination of choice for all those who have fallen under the spell of the alpine winter.

The village itself sits at 1450m but higher altitude skiing, is effortlessly reached via one of the largest cable cars in Austria, guaranteeing snow throughout the season. Non skiers are also in for a treat with a superb network of 40kms of prepared walking paths and many other snow related activities.

After an invigorating day in this Alpine mecca, where better to retire to at the end of a busy day than to VIP SKI’s beautiful new Hotel Thedoul? The stunning hotel sleeps a maximum of 80 guests with a mix of Austrian twins, twins and family rooms  and enjoys interiors combined with perfect Austrian form, function and charm. All the classic hallmark touches of a VIP SKI experience will be offered including welcome drinks and mouth-watering canapés, seven days cooked breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meal with wine included, a bar serving drinks & coffee, a sauna, steam room and massage suite. A complimentary ski hosting service is available to assist skiers on finding the best way to get around the vast array of slopes. Nannies are also on hand to help make a family holiday more enjoyable and can help with the children’s needs.
