Heimstaden AB and Folksam Group Increase Equity Commitments

On 26 September 2021 Heimstaden Bostad announced buying Akelius’ German, Swedish and Danish properties and a related SEK 24.8 billion equity raise from existing owners.

Heimstaden AB and the Folksam Group (through Folksam Liv and Folksam Sak) have decided to increase their equity injections; Heimstaden will invest an additional SEK 3.7 billion, for a total investment of SEK 12.2 billion, and the Folksam Group will invest an additional SEK 2.75 billion for a total investment of SEK 10.75 billion.

“We appreciate the continued support of our investors, which will further strengthen our strong financial position,” said CEO, Patrik Hall.

With this and the SEK 500 million investment from new investor, FPK, which was announced yesterday, Heimstaden Bostad’s equity issuance will amount to SEK 31.75 billion, including already committed equity from existing institutional shareholders, Alecta (SEK 7.1 billion) and the Swedish Pensions Agency (SEK 1.25 billion).
