Heimstaden joins the United Nations Global Compact

Heimstaden Group, a leading real estate company in Scandinavia, Germany and the Netherlands, has committed to address global sustainability challenges by joining the United Nations Global Compact. The strategic initiative implies adopting responsible practices and develop innovative solutions to address human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and take strategic actions to ad-vance broader societal goals.

Heimstaden is dedicated to create value by investing long-term in properties and operational efficiency with focus on people, environment and climate. By signing the UN Global Compact, Heimstaden has for the first time officially committed to an international initiative in the area of sustainability that is aligned with the company core values of care for people and environment in business actions. With a clear sustainability strategy, measurable targets, regular monitoring and reporting, Heimstaden will create clarity both within and outside the organization.

Heimstaden wants to contribute to the development of a sustainable society by focus on e.g. building sustainable properties, securing sustainable supply chains and by offering social lease contracts and apprenticeship. In line with the Paris Agreement, Heimstaden also aims to have a fossil fuel-free business in 2030 and high focus on energy efficiency, renewable electricity, and other actions to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions.
