Hemköp launches Internet shopping cooperation for train commuters Hemköp has signed an agreement on deliveries of pre-ordered groceries to train commuters. The cooperation agreement is with the newly started company Butler and initially covers a trial period, during which packed grocery bags will we handed out to customers at Uppsala central station. Activities are expected to commence in late November/early December 1999. Customers' orders are placed with Hemköp via the Internet and are ready to be picked up when the afternoon trains from Stockholm arrive in Uppsala. Commuters will also be able to pick up other products ordered via Butler. In a second stage, the intention is to expand the service to some 20 pick-up locations. The company Butler is 51%-owned by Swedish Rail (SJ) and originated in AdVenture '99, a contest for new business ideas.
