Hemköp opens four new stores Hemköp has decided to open four new supermarkets. One supermarket will be newly established, and three are existing units that will be reprofiled according to Hemköp's business concept, which is based on the cornerstones of quality, the environment and health. Hemköp is acquiring the Träffen supermarket in Oskarshamn, which will be reopened during the summer. The acquisition also includes a complete bakery. In Gothenburg, Hemköp is acquiring a Vivo supermarket, which will be reopened in the autumn. Hemköp is acquiring an additional Vivo supermarket in Gothenburg which, following a reprofiling and expansion, will be reopened in the spring of 2000. Hemköp is establishing an entirely new supermarket in central Gävle, which is scheduled to open in the autumn of 2000. These supermarkets will add combined sales space of around 6.000 square meter and add an estimated yearly gross turnover of roughly SEK 240 m.
