Henley Software builds secure Home Office website
Henley Software has successfully completed a website upgrade project for the Drug Interventions Programme, which is run by the Home Office as part of its activity to reduce re-offending. The new website, www.dirweb.co.uk, recently went live, on budget.
The website is a secure resource for drug action teams to store and access information about their clients. The site produces monthly dashboards to help teams make informed decisions. Due to its sensitivity, Henley has ensured that the personal data stored is kept completely secure.
“Henley completed the project with no problems, and we’re delighted with the results,” said Nick Manton, Head of information systems [and public transparency] for the Drug Interventions Programme in the Home Office.. “This is a good example of how the public sector is engaging with SMEs, and how small businesses like Henley are able to use their expertise to help deliver the government’s ICT strategy.”
Henley originally migrated the website to the secure GWS government network, and then undertook an extract, transform and load (ETL) project to move data and produce reports. Finally, Henley completely rebuilt and updated the website.
The rebuilding project took six months, and was undertaken as an agile project. Henley wrote the website in Microsoft ASP.NET MVC3.0, with a back end SQL Server database.
