Henley Software Secures Government Framework Agreement
Berkshire-based software developer and IT support specialist Henley Software has been granted a prestigious Framework Agreement for the provision of G-Cloud Services by the British Government’s Procurement Service. The agreement is awarded to businesses active in the public sector who consistently meet deadlines and budgets for government-specified contracts.
The agreement means that Henley Software has been accepted onto a Government Framework Agreement which permits the company to bypass the lengthy tendering process in supplying IT services direct to Government Departments. “It is akin to the ‘Preferred Supplier’ status common in blue-chip private companies and to the ‘Preferred Supplier Catalogue’ used by local authorities to select suppliers. But at this level, it applies across the UK Government and is managed directly by the Cabinet Office,” explains Henley Software MD Russell Henley.
Henley Software provides IT Services and bespoke Software Development. While the new Framework Agreement is in the context of IT Services, it does come on the back of a valuable software development project currently in progress at the company’s Burnham HQ for the Ministry of Justice. The software philosophy at the heart of Henley’s development process is called ‘Agile’, which helps sophisticated bespoke software projects to evolve rapidly from minimal initial specifications. “It shortcuts the time-consuming up-front procedures that typically make these large projects so cumbersome, and it involves end-users right from the start,” explains Henley. “It is methodologies such as this that make a tangible difference to public sector projects, and help us get recognised as a company that can deliver on its promises and exceed expectations,” he adds.
The Agreement is a significant contractual win for Henley Software and is expected to have a positive impact on the company’s ability to generate new business across the public sector.
