DUKES MEADOWS WELCOMES NEW GENERAL MANAGER
Dukes Meadows, the golf, tennis and skiing venue based in Chiswick, West London, has announced the appointment of Richard Shepherd as its new General Manager.
Shepherd is an accomplished manager within leisure and tennis, with a broad skill set enhanced through senior management roles at St George’s Hill Lawn Tennis Club, where he worked for three years and at the Lawn Tennis Association, where he was responsible for tennis development.
On joining Dukes Meadows Shepherd said,
“I’m extremely excited to come on board at Dukes Meadows. Not only is Dukes Meadows a leading venue in player development and coaching at an elite level but we also offer fantastic golf, tennis, skiing and health and fitness facilities and a welcoming atmosphere to children and adults of all abilities.’’
Shepherd’s arrival at Dukes Meadows adds to an exciting and successful period for the venue. The FC** Tennis Academy continues to produce the very best young British tennis players, with many producing excellent performances over the last few months at national tournaments. In addition the golf development programme has witnessed the meteoric rise of 14-year-old Sammy Fuller, the most successful golfer of all time for her age group and 9th in the English Ladies Order of Merit (3rd at U18 level).
Outside of the elite programmes, Dukes Meadows is set to be awarded the Middlesex School Tennis Award by the Middlesex LTA. New for 2013, the award recognises the work Dukes Meadows does in introducing new players to the game and their work in delivering a comprehensive schools outreach programme in the local area. Over the past year this programme has delivered tennis sessions free of charge to over 4,000 children in 60 primary schools.
Dukes Meadows continues to welcome hundreds of children and adults looking to ‘pay and play’ on London’s only 9 hole par 3 golf course, 4 outdoor clay or 5 indoor GreenSet® tennis courts, as well as those looking to take to the slopes this winter with Skiplex, an indoor continually revolving ski slope.
