to Assist Individuals Interested in Exploring a Career Change

MILWAUKEE (June 16, 2010) – Herzing Educational System announced today that it will host “Discovery Days” over the next eight weeks at its U.S. and Canadian campuses for individuals who are either unemployed, uninspired by their current careers, or undecided on their future career paths.  The events will enable individuals to learn about careers that have the strongest job prospects for the future and the educational programs available if they choose to pursue one of these careers to gain improved job stability, job satisfaction, or higher pay.

“Herzing University offers a variety of educational programs—from master’s degrees to diploma programs—to help individuals gain the credentials they need to succeed in the most in-demand careers in the U.S. and Canada,” said Renée Herzing, president of the Herzing Educational System.  “Our Discovery Day events recognize the desire of those who are unemployed or unhappy in their jobs to find their way to a new career path; we’re doing our part to provide them with the insight and direction they need to take that next step toward success in a new career.”

The “Discovery Day” events run from this week through mid-August at Herzing University campuses.  The complete schedule to date includes:

Each event will be customized to the local community and will include campus tours to answer any questions that individuals may have about specific career options and educational programs, if they wish to pursue them.  Instructors, financial aid staff, admissions counselors, students, and alumni will also be available at most events to answer questions. Many campuses also will hold job fairs in cooperation with area employers.

Herzing University Online will also be participating in “Discovery Days” from July 19-23, offering a week-long series of webinars available to the public, including topics such as résumé and interviewing skills, retooling your career, time management, and how to fund your education. They will also offer webinars with details about specific programs and careers that are considered among the fastest growing in the United States.

“Herzing is a great choice for people who are looking to change careers because, in many cases, students can complete a bachelor’s degree in three years so they can begin working in their new careers as quickly as possible,” said Herzing.  “Our flexible scheduling makes it easier for adults with multiple demands on their time to fit school around their other priorities by enabling them to take classes on campus, online, or a combination of both.”

To learn more about “Discovery Day” or other events at Herzing campuses, interested individuals are encouraged to go to www.herzing.edu/locations (or www.herzing.edu/ca for Canada) and choose the campus of interest.
