Herzing University Online to Host “Career Discovery Days” July 19 – 23 to Assist Individuals Interested in Exploring a Career Change
MILWAUKEE, WIS., (July 7, 2010) – Herzing University Online will host “Career Discovery Days” July 19 – 23 from 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. for individuals who are unemployed, uninspired by their current careers, undecided on their future, or would like to learn more about potential career paths that may offer better job stability, greater intellectual challenge or higher salaries.
“We recognize that the massive job losses of the past two years have been a real eye-opener for many people, and they have been re-thinking the sustainability of their career paths, regardless of whether they have lost jobs or remained employed,” said Dr. Todd Rickel, Herzing University Online president. “Our Career Discovery Days event will enable individuals to learn about careers that have strong job prospects for the future and educational programs available if they choose to pursue one of these careers.”
Career Discovery Days will include five full days of 30-minute webinar sessions on career-related topics including:
- Exploring Business: Monday, July 19, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- Exploring Health Care Management: Tuesday, July 20, at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Exploring Nursing: Tuesday, July 20, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- Exploring Graphic Design, Wednesday, July 21, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- Exploring Technology, Thursday, July 22, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- Exploring Public Safety: Friday, July 23, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
- How to Pick Your Program: July 19 at 2 p.m., July 22 at 1 p.m., and July 23 at 5 p.m.
Participants can learn about some of the nation’s fastest-growing careers and which ones might best fit their individual skills. Career-focused information such as resume building, interviewing and networking skills also will be provided.
