Report this content

The reported fire incident at our production site located in Raufoss Industrial Park is now extinguished by the on-site fire-services. 1 employee suffered minor injuries and is being treated by the local doctor.

All employees of Hexagon Ragasco and Hexagon Raufoss on site were evacuated according to procedure, and production halted.

The incident was reported just before 10 a.m. The fire started outside the production facility in an outdoor filling machine for propane gas cylinders used for internal testing. The filling station and test equipment were damaged. To clarify, there has been a fire in a 500 litre propane tank and not a 4,000 litre tank as described by certain media.

There is no material damage to production or operations and there is no material impact to ongoing production of LPG cylinders, or other products on site. Management of Hexagon Ragasco expects to re-start production within the weekend.

Fire-services are investigating the scene to determine the cause of the fire and Hexagon Composites will not issue any comments regarding the cause of the fire until conclusion of the investigation.
