Hexagon Digital Wave, a leader in innovative requalification technology for high-pressure cylinders, proudly announces the successful build of its 200th Ultrasonic Examination (UE) machine.

For the past 20 years, Hexagon Digital Wave has pioneered the use ultrasonic examination technology for the testing of metallic cylinders.

The UE technology offers a non-invasive, highly accurate method of detecting flaws in high-pressure metallic cylinders, contributing to enhanced safety, reduced downtime, and lower costs for operators. Hexagon Digital Wave’s UE machines have set a new benchmark for cylinder testing in the gas, transportation, and energy sectors and have machines in operation worldwide.

Hexagon Digital Wave currently offers 4 different types of UE machines, all built at their facility in Centennial, Colorado and developed to cater to customers’ needs.

“We’re incredibly proud of this milestone. It reflects the hard work of our team and our dedication to providing cutting-edge technology for our customers. We remain committed to continuously improving the safety, efficiency, and reliability of cylinder testing,” said George Siedlecki, CEO at Hexagon Digital Wave.

What is UE Testing?

Ultrasonic Examination (UE) uses advanced electronics and sensors to assess the structural integrity of high-pressure metallic cylinders for overall safety. UE is considered the most accurate way to requalify/test a metallic cylinder. Hexagon Digital Wave has been the market leader for nearly two decades in UE solutions for the periodic testing of high-pressure seamless metallic cylinders. One of the key benefits of UE is that it allows customers to test their cylinders without venting the gaseous contents. This has several positive impacts, including environmental benefits through gas conservation and operational efficiencies by reducing downtime and the cost associated with refilling the cylinders.

Hexagon Digital Wave remains a trusted partner to many of the world’s leading gas and cylinder operators, offering both Ultrasonic Examination and Modal Acoustic Emission technologies. As we celebrate this 200th build, the company looks forward to expanding its solutions and supporting the industry’s evolving needs.
