New LPG Cylinder order from Venezuela

Hexagon Composites ASA's subsidiary Ragasco AS has received a repeat order for 300 000 LPG composite cylinders from the Venezuelan company PDVSA Services Inc. The order is the result of an international tender issued by PDVSA Services BV.

PDVSA Services BV is the international procurement office and fully owned subsidiary of the state-owned Venezuelan petroleum company Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. "PDVSA". The cylinders will be used by PDVSA Gas Comunal and through their existing LPG distribution network. PDVSA Gas Comunal is also a fully owned subsidiary of PDVSA and the vehicle for downstream distribution of LPG.

This order represents the continuing commitment of PDVSA and the Venezuelan government to the on going modernisation programme of the Venezuelan LPG industry in providing modern, practical and safe cylinders for the Venezuelan public.

"We are delighted to continue to supply our products to PDVSA and the Venezuelan people, and we hope to establish an even stronger relationship between Ragasco and PDVSA in the near future. We regard the Central and South American markets as a critical area for the Hexagon Group's future development." says Erik Espeset, Hexagon Group President.

Composite's corrosion resistance offers great advantages over traditional steel cylinders in an environment with high humidity and salinity and, in the Caribbean area, where much of the LPG transportation is undertaken by boat, lightness is also a major benefit.
