HIPMUNK LAUNCHES “TRIP PLANNING”: REVOLUTIONIZING THE WAY PEOPLE MANAGE TRIPS

Offers most seamless cross-platform travel planning solution in the industry

SAN FRANCISCO (June 30, 2015) — Today Hipmunk announced “Trip Planning,” a new set of features that offers the most comprehensive way to manage search activity prior to booking. “Trip Planning” saves travelers from the agony of repetitive searches by allowing them to group searches into specific trips, save favorite itineraries or accommodations, access travel details seamlessly across devices, and review and filter trip activity all in one place.

“Our customers have asked for the ability to save flight and hotel searches so they can easily go back and reference them,” said Nancy Hang, Vice President of Product at Hipmunk. “We are excited to roll out several new best-in-industry features that allow them to more easily save, manage and access their trip plans across devices and have confidence they are booking the best option.”

Trips

When travelers visit Hipmunk and run a flight or hotel search, they’ll have the option to categorize the search under a specific trip name. For example, if someone is planning a summer vacation and runs a flight search to Maui, they’ll be prompted to save their search to a trip. Once the trip is named (e.g. “Summer Vacation”) they can add additional searches to that trip, making it easy to compare whether flights to Maui or Oahu are the best deal or if a vacation rental is a better option than a hotel.

Favorites

When running so many searches in pursuit of ideal flight times or the best accommodations, it’s easy to lose track of the ones that are the most suitable. With “Trip Planning,” travelers can mark their favorite options, so they can come back and easily identify the top choices for each trip.

Cross-Platform Access

Last year Hipmunk announced Hipmunk Anywhere, which allowed logged in users to access their recent searches across devices. “Trip Planning” expands this feature and allows users to access saved trips and select favorites to plan their trip seamlessly using the Hipmunk mobile app.

Activity Manager

The activity manager houses all search, trip, and favorites activities in one place. Conveniently accessed from the account settings tab, logged-in users can simply click on the drop-down menu, review and filter trips, and monitor prices to decide what and when to book.
