HiQ continues its Mobile Internet drive and joins the GPRS Applications Alliance HiQ has just become a member of the GPRS Applications Alliance and is now positioning itself among players with longstanding experience of tomorrow's technology. The GPRS Applications Alliance was formed by Ericsson to serve as a catalyst in the development of applications based on new technology in the field of mobile data, GPRS (General Packet Radio Service). GPRS is introducing packet data to mobile networks and is the first step for GSM and TDMA operators in the development of the third generation of mobile telephony. - HiQ has several years of experience of GPRS and mobile data over GSM and our membership is designed to further consolidate our position in the field of the Mobile Internet. We assist our clients in adapting existing solutions to new technology and constructing new ones. HiQ focuses on the business benefits and can also provide strategic advice and business development to help our clients derive financial benefits from the technology, says Mikael Teng, project manager at HiQ. GPRS and mobile data over GSM are not limited to the Internet; they are also used in machine-to-machine communication. HiQ is for example involved in constructing dedicated solutions for clients in industries such as transport, finance and media. - Sweden is very advanced in terms of the development of the Mobile Internet, and we have seen considerable interest from our international clients in learning about the technology. We are working on the solutions of tomorrow and thus attracting clients at the very cutting edge of technology, just like ourselves, says Lars Stugemo, Deputy Managing Director of HiQ International.
