HiQ helps Anoto quality-assure its digital pens

HiQ has been assigned by Anoto, the world leader in digital pen and paper technology, a project for quality assurance of Anoto’s own digital pen. Anoto was first out in the world with this unique technology – today licensed to around 250 different partners over the world. Since June 2008 Anoto has also launched pens under the Anoto brand.

Anoto’s unique technology is based on digital pen and paper. The digital pen feels like an ordinary ballpoint pen, but contains an integrated camera that reads a pattern of numerous black dots almost invisible to the naked eye. The data, based on the black dots, is stored in the pen and can then be transferred to a computer via either a docking station or a mobile phone.

HiQ’s assignment is to ensure quality and functionality, at system level, for two applications in the pens. The assignment covers test specifying and test management as well as actual test execution, delivered via HiQ’s student pools concept.

“HiQ provides an attractive service and is very experienced in this type of assignment. The work has been very well organised and implemented, and we are very pleased with what HiQ has done,” says Henrik Sällman, Forms Development Manager at Anoto.

“HiQ Skåne has been delivering total solutions within quality assurance and testing throughout its life, so we are used to customers’ problems of short lead times, expectations of high quality and the constant pressure to do the job as cost-effective as possible. The assignment for Anoto is a good example of how we can benefit from the structural capital and experience that we have built up over the years to deliver an effective solution,” says Jon Carvell, Managing Director of HiQ Skåne.
