HiQ MAKES LIFE EASIER FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

With the help of HiQ, the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) is launching development projects to improve accessibility and usability in IT, electronic communication and other electronic services for people with disabilities.

HiQ has been providing client support for PTS for two years. This has involved developing new methods for these development projects as well as quality assurance, mentorship and preparation of supporting documentation. HiQ’s support has provided PTS with a better basis for development decisions and helped improve efficiency for the client. HiQ has also helped PTS to develop Telepriskollen, an easy-to-use tariff comparison site for mobile and fixed telephony and the Internet.

“I’m happy that we are able to make IT use easier for people with disabilities. IT is there for everyone and we have created a solution with PTS that we can all be proud of,” says Lars Stugemo President and CEO of HiQ.

PTS also organises innovation competitions where HiQ acts as project manager to develop criteria for evaluation, quality assurance and development of the proposals.   HiQ also takes part in the process of judging and following up the proposals during the course of the competition. The prize for the competition with the theme “Culture and Leisure” will be presented on 3 May at Nalen in Stockholm, and Minister for Culture and Sports, Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth, among others, will speak at the event.
