HiQ project manages Com Hem's launch of fixed telephony via the cable TV network
HiQ project manages Com Hem's launch of fixed telephony via the cable TV network HiQ has been responsible for overall project management for Com Hem's forthcoming launch of fixed telephony using the cable TV network, when Com Hem will become Sweden's first triple play player. From autumn 2004 Com Hem will offer its customers fixed telephony via the cable TV network, making it Sweden's first "triple play" player - i.e. a provider of TV, broadband and telephony via the same network. "We started this project at the beginning of 2004 with the aim of being able to offer Com Hem's customers fixed telephony in autumn 2004. As early as August we were able to make the first call on the network and work is now under way on designing the offering to our customers ahead of launch of the service later this autumn. Development has been rapid and produced good results, with HiQ's experience and expertise in telephony having been one of the strengths of the project. We are very pleased with the cooperation between Com Hem and HiQ," says Gunnar Asp, CEO of Com Hem. HiQ has had overall responsibility for project management as regards the technical design of Com Hem's telephony offering. The project includes dealing with regulatory matters, the procurement and implementation of the technical platform as well as the design of processes such as customer services, etc. The technical platform was supplied by Siemens and the project has been implemented in cooperation between the three parties. "HiQ has many years' experience in the telecoms industry and works with suppliers, operators and users. The project with Com Hem calls for an understanding and a knowledge not only of the regulations, but also of the technology and the customer's business. It is a good example of how HiQ's telecoms expertise can help our clients to create new business structures, thereby increase their competitiveness," says Lars Stugemo, President and CEO of HiQ.
