HiQ has received another order from Land Systems Hägglunds AB involving the development of simulation equipment for, among others things, the CV 9035 NL combat vehicle. The end customer is the Netherlands national defence. The simulation equipment will be used to test software in the development of the new combat vehicles.

”HiQ is helping us to significantly rationalise and simplify our testing processes and thereby raise the quality of our development work. The greater the technical complexity of our combat vehicles, the better the standard of the equipment and methods we use needs to be,” says Håkan Näslund, Manager of Test & Verification, Software and Electronics. This assignment gives HiQ responsibility for developing new testing equipment to be used to test software in the development of new combat vehicles. This will include functional and integration testing of computers in the vehicles as well as the overall electronic system. It will be possible for all electronic units to be tested at an early stage in a simulated environment to verify that the hardware and software are functioning correctly. This will allow any malfunction to be detected at an early stage in the development chain and thereby reduce the risk and the costs that would be incurred if faulty units were installed in an actual vehicle. HiQ’s work involves producing a new testing concept so that Land Systems Hägglunds will be able to conduct tests on new products in the future using the new equipment. ”Naturally we are very happy that Land Systems Hägglunds, an important client for HiQ, has once again shown confidence in us. We started working together in 2004 and we have made good progress, which is confirmed by the new assignment. Producing a modern combat vehicle requires communication systems with a high standard and advanced technical solutions based on the client’s specific needs. The simulation equipment must also be of a high standard. Our expertise in testing, verification and simulation is unique,” says Tomas Täuber,” Key Account Manager at HiQ. Land Systems Hägglunds develops, produces and markets military vehicle systems. The company’s main products are combat vehicles, all terrain vehicles and turret systems. The head office and production facilities are in Örnsköldsvik. Since 2004 Land Systems Hägglunds has been part of the UK defence industry group BAE Systems. Land Systems Hägglunds had net sales in 2004 of around SEK 3 billion and has around 1,100 employees.
