HiQ receives new FMV order worth SEK 25 million The Nordic IT and management consultancy HiQ has received a new order from FMV, Swedish Defence Material Administration. The order, worth SEK 25 million, relates to the development of fighter-pilot training simulators for JAS 39 Gripen. "This assignment illustrates the need for our unique services in regard to advanced, high-tech defence solutions. It also reflects appreciation for the high quality work we have done over the years," says Peter Caap, Managing Director for HiQ Approve. Simulators are used to train pilots in purely tactical flight situations involving various allies and enemies, but also to train ground staff. The advantage of flying in a simulator compared to a real plane is that a flight session is far less expensive in a simulator. Moreover, certain routines can be practised which would not be feasible in a real flight situation for reasons of safety, for example. "Long-term client relationships and framework agreements are becoming increasingly important. Clients are choosing suppliers with good references, those who are certain to be in business for a long time in the future. Instead of working with lots of different companies, clients are establishing closer links with fewer suppliers.
