HiQ has signed a new framework agreement with FMV, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration. The agreement covers services within the areas of tactical telecommunications systems, radar and electronic warfare as well as network structure, and extends over two years.

“As network-based defence expands, so the requirements of communications equipment, systems and networks in defence environments also increase. Through this agreement HiQ will be able to assist FMV with the development of robust communications systems that live up to these demands – a very exciting opportunity for HiQ. FMV is an important client that we have worked with for many years. The new agreement paves the way for our continued positive cooperation, which is of course very pleasing,” says Lars Stugemo, President and CEO of HiQ International. The new framework agreement allows HiQ to offer services within a range of communications-related areas such as radio systems technology, satellite communications and radar systems as well as fixed and mobile telecoms systems. In total, FMV’s purchasing volume for services covered by the new agreement is expected to amount to SEK 100 million per year. “HiQ is in a unique position in telecoms. We have worked on advanced systems development and consulting for both operators and suppliers for over ten years. We can take this expertise with us to a client such as FMV and assist them with building new networks and communications systems suited to modern defence,” says says Patrik Boman, Managing Director of HiQ Data. FMV – the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration – is a civil government agency with the task of managing the design and procurement of new defence equipment. These products must be suited to the network-based defence systems of the future. FMV carries out assignments for the Swedish Armed Forces as well as other authorities and provides export support on behalf of the government, with the aim of boosting the operational capacity of the total defence organisation.
