HiQ and the Swedish National Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) have signed a new framework agreement. The agreement covers various types of studies and analyses in the communications field, and can be extended for up to three years. HiQ and PTS have worked together for a long time, and the new agreement forms the basis for their continued cooperation.

“We have been working with PTS for nearly a decade, for example on the evaluation of UMTS applications, 3G measurements for operators, analysis of number plans and studies relating to 3G network expansion. Advances in the telecom field continue at a record pace. PTS is working on key issues of major importance to us all, as they ultimately have to do with determining the commercial and technical conditions under which the players in the market will be operating,” says Bo Ringdahl, MD of HiQ Stockholm.

The National Post and Telecom Agency is the Swedish authority responsible for telecom, IT, radio and postal services. Its mission is to ensure that all Swedes have access to efficient, secure and value-for-money communication services. Under the new framework agreement, HiQ will conduct technical studies relating to services for fixed and wireless networks, radio and television distribution, Internet services and number-planning issues. The agreement also covers future and scenario analyses, as well as business and market-related studies in connection with number planning.

“HiQ has since started working with leading providers, operators and users in the communications field. The regulatory issues surrounding communication services constitute a large and important element in the telecom market and, thanks to our cooperation with PTS and others, we are strengthening our expertise and expanding our offering to all clients. We look forward to a continued good business relationship with PTS,” continues Ringdahl.
