HiQ signs new general agreement with Swedia Networks and industrialises city network concept HiQ is heading work relating to industrialising Swedia Network's city network concept, CityNet. HiQ has been collaborating with Swedia Networks since 1998, providing its services in the context of a general agreement. The agreement covers the provision of cutting-edge technical expertise within telecoms and management consulting services. HiQ has applied its skills to the entire chain from the preliminary study of perceivable business opportunities to the implementation and development of new concepts for city networks. Swedia Networks works with network construction, integration and management as well as the maintenance of both fixed and mobile telecommunications systems. Its market was previously limited to the Nordic region, but in 2000 the company enjoyed international expansion. "This assignment involves heading work relating to the industrialisation of CityNet. HiQ has acted as both project manager and catalyst in an effort to facilitate and enhance the efficiency of developing CityNet as a product. The concept also renders marketing and sales initiatives more effective, thus favouring Swedia Networks's business model," says Bo Boivie, account manager HiQ. "Swedia Networks has a strong position as a network constructor and systems integrator within the telecoms industry which makes it an attractive customer for HiQ. We are currently working with the company in both Sweden and France and hope there will be further opportunities to collaborate as Swedia Networks establishes its operations in other countries too," says Lars Stugemo, CEO HiQ International.
