HiQ signs partnership agreement with Satsafe HiQ signs partnership agreement with mobile data company, Satsafe. The agreement means that HiQ will be providing mobile datacoms consultancy services in 2000. "Sweden is spearheading developments within mobile datacoms, and Satsafe is one of the companies that will help place Sweden on the world map. HiQ has the comprehensive Mobile Internet skills necessary to make Satsafe's initiative a success," says Magnus Gudéhn, Account Manager at HiQ. Today, HiQ has some 40 consultants working within Mobile Internet, and the market is still exploding. A large number of players are already positioning themselves in anticipation of the major datacoms breakthrough expected following the launch of GPRS in GSM networks. By combining three tried-and-tested technologies - positioning with GPS, communication with GSM and using the Internet as a user interface - Satsafe is both improving existing alarm and security systems and creating totally new applications. Satsafe's terminal is somewhat smaller than a mobile phone and takes much less space than previous solutions. HiQ and Satsafe have previously worked together on developing the core of the terminal. "Mobile Internet isn't only about WAP and GPRS, but also about wireless machine-to-machine communication, such as Coca-Cola dispensers that communicate with central logistics systems," continues Magnus Gudéhn. "HiQ has the all-embracing expertise and experience within everything ranging from business development to advanced technology - just what Satsafe needs as it stands on the brink of a sharp expansion phase both in Sweden and internationally," says Michael Skordby, Satsafe's Managing Director.
