HiQ wins order from Siemens to manage technical implementation of telephony services

HiQ has won an order from Siemens to project-manage the technical implementation of a brand new telecommunications solution for Region Skåne.

In February 2005 Siemens won an outsourcing contract involving overall responsibility for telephony in Region Skåne. Siemens has engaged HiQ to have principal responsibility for project management of the technical implementation of the new telephony platform. The project encompasses 32,000 users of telephony services within Region Skåne who will in future use Siemens’s telephony equipment, including exchanges, exchange applications, base stations, terminals, etc. HiQ’s task is to be responsible for overall project management as regards technical implementation, involving everything from planning and coordination to commissioning. “Once this project has been carried out, all the units within Region Skåne will be linked up on a uniform telephony platform via Region Skåne’s IP network. This will provide a large cost saving and increased mobility for end-users. Implementing such a large project will be very demanding on both us at Siemens and our consultant supplier.
