Anne Mere appointed to HKScan’s Management Board with responsibility for market areas of Finland and the Baltics

HKScan is combining and rendering closer to each other the operative management of the market areas of Finland and the Baltics. Anne Mere, MBA, managing director of HKScan's Estonian subsidiary AS Rakvere Lihakombinaat, has been appointed to the post as of 10 February 2012. She also becomes a member of HKScan's Management Board. Ms Mere will be responsible for HKScan’s market area of Finland as HKScan Finland Oy's managing director, and for the market area of the Baltics.

HKScan has already combined in January the operative management of the market areas of Sweden and Denmark under Scan AB's managing director Denis Mattsson. According to HKScan’s CEO Matti Perkonoja, the company's goal is to utilise the synergies between the various market areas more effectively.

The change will not affect HKScan’s reporting. The business segments will continue to report as separate entities.

Anne Mere has worked in the HKScan Group since 2003. She has held the post of managing director at AS Rakvere Lihakombinaat since 2008 and was previously the company's marketing director. Prior to Rakvere, Ms Mere worked at, among other companies, Austria Tabak and Unilever, both in Estonia.

HKScan’s Management Board as of 10 February 2012 consists of
Matti Perkonoja, CEO (chairman until 29 February 2012, when Hannu Kottonen will take over as CEO); Irma Kiilunen, CFO; Anne Mere, director responsible for the market areas of Finland and the Baltics, Denis Mattsson, director responsible for the market areas of Sweden and the Baltics, Sirpa Laakso, HR director and Markku Suvanto, administrative and legal director.

Product brands in Finland are HK, Kariniemen, Tamminen, Kivikylän and Portti.

Jari Leija will continue as managing director of HK Ruokatalo Oy, the largest subsidiary in the market area of Finland.

HKScan’s market area of the Baltics

The HKScan Group's market area of the Baltics consists of the Estonian companies AS Rakvere Lihakombinaat and AS Tallegg. Rakvere has three subsidiaries: the Estonian company AS Ekseko, the Latvian companies Rigas Miesnieks A/S and Jelgavas Galas Kombinats A/S, and the Lithuanian company Klaipedos Maisto Mesos Produktai.
