Changes in HKScan’s management
HKScan Group revises the composition of its Management Team. The changes are in force as of today, 3 April 2019.
“We are in the process of renewing the company strategy and are reviewing our strategic focus areas. Future strategic decisions, together with the changes reported today, will help us build a stronger foundation for HKScan’s business development and future. These changes support us in strengthening the company’s financial performance in the ongoing development stage,” says HKScan’s CEO Tero Hemmilä.
HKScan’s Management Team
Going forward, HKScan Corporation’s Management Team will include the following positions and persons:
- EVP Market Area Finland: Jari Leija
- EVP Market Area Sweden: Sofia Hyléen Toresson
- EVP Market Area Baltics: Anne Mere
- EVP Market Area Denmark & International: Jukka Nikkinen
- EVP Meat Balance & Supply Chain: Esa Mäki
- Chief Operating Officer (COO) leading Operations and Technology functions: Mika Koskinen
- Chief Financial Officer (CFO): Jyrki Paappa
- EVP Administration (HR and Legal): Markku Suvanto
Esa Mäki, who has been appointed EVP Meat Balance &Supply Chain, has previously worked in senior business leadership positions at, among others, Atria and HKScan Group. Esa Mäki will serve as EVP Market Area Finland until Jari Leija assumes his position (at the end of June 2019 at the latest).
COO Mika Koskinen, who is in charge of HKScan’s operations and technology, started at HKScan on 7 January 2019. Previously, he has worked in several senior leadership positions at Valio. Koskinen has also served as a member of Valio’s management team.
Jari Leija, the newly appointed EVP Market Area Finland, has strong experience in the meat industry. He has served in several senior leadership positions at HKScan and Atria. Jari Leija will start in his new role at the end of June 2019 at the latest.
Jyrki Paappa, who has been appointed HKScan’s CFO, has previously worked as CFO of Maintpartner Group Oy and Raisio plc, among others. He will start in his new position on 8 April 2019.
The company’s new EVP Administration, Markku Suvanto, has previously worked as, among others, HKScan’s General Counsel from 2009 to 2012 and as Head of Legal and member of the Group Management Team from 2012 to 2017.
Sofia Hyléen Toresson, Anne Mere and Jukka Nikkinen will continue in the Management Team in their current positions.
Head of HR Anu Mankki, Head of Communications Mikko Saariaho and Head of Animal Sourcing and Primary Production Pia Nybäck will leave the Management Team. They will continue to work for the Group.
EVP Categories and Concepts Heli Arantola, EVP Operations Sami Sivuranta, CFO Mikko Forsell and EVP Market Area Finland Kati Rajala will leave their positions in the company. “I want to thank the parting Management Team members for their contribution and wish them all the best in their future endeavours,” says CEO Hemmilä.
