HKSCAN TO STREAMLINE AND STANDARDISE PURCHASING

The HKScan Group intends to streamline and standardise purchasing at the
various Group companies. The Group estimates the introduction of a standardised
policy will deliver significant annual savings. The new policy is accomplished
at two stages. The first stage will involve streamlining measures in the
acquisition of materials and supplies at production facilities. The second
stage will look into the costs of services and marketing as well.

The standardised policy will initially be introduced in the market areas of
Finland and Sweden and later be adopted also in the Group's Baltic units.

The employees of the various companies' purchasing organisations will continue
to work within the current line organisation but will in future report on
purchasing activities to John Poulsen, vice president of purchasing in charge
of coordinating purchases at the Group level.
