Home Learning College launches latest desktop support course for IT professionals
Home Learning College today announces the launch of its Windows 7 Desktop Support technician course – designed to provide IT professionals with the skills to support Microsoft’s newest operating system within a business environment. Delivered by distance learning, the course equips students to pass the Microsoft TS: Windows 7, Configuring (70-680) exam while maintaining their existing work and social commitments. Launched to the public in October 2009, Windows 7 has proved highly popular among business and home users. The new Desktop Support Course is open to those with a minimum of one year’s experience in the IT field covering the implementation and administration of any Windows client operating system in a networked environment. Home Learning College is an experienced Microsoft Certified Partner and Windows 7 Desktop Support is the latest addition to a growing portfolio of IT and computing courses which include Microsoft VB.net Programming and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator. Students on Home Learning College’s Windows 7 Desktop Support Technician course receive two years’ unlimited tutorial support plus all relevant materials, including four workbooks and a DVD of practice tests to reinforce the content of each module. The course covers the installation, management and configuration of Windows 7 including ensuring hardware and software compatibility. Upon completion, students will be able to configure pre-installation and post-installation system settings, Windows security features, network connectivity applications included with Windows 7 and mobile computing. They will also be able to maintain systems (including monitoring for and resolving, performance and reliability issues) and demonstrate a basic understanding of Windows PowerShell syntax.
