Wednesday 18 April, 10-4pm at Prospect Place, Blake Avenue, Gillingham ME7 1FX

An exciting new housing scheme for older people in Gillingham is to be showcased later this month. A special open day is being held at Prospect Place in Blake Avenue on Wednesday 18 April between 10am and 4pm.

Prospect Place, which is part of the exciting Victory Pier development, will welcome its first residents from 30 April. Visitors to the open day will be able to meet with staff and take a look around the facilities, including the on-site hair and beauty salon and restaurant.

Providing affordable rented accommodation to meet the needs of people aged 55 and over, Prospect Place offers 60 one and two bedroom apartments. Extra care housing enables residents to live independently with 24 hour on-site care and support tailored to individual needs.

Commenting on the new development, Mikkel Toksverd, regional services director for Housing 21 said: “We are very excited about Prospect Place and the benefits that it will deliver, not only to residents but to others in the local community who will be able to access some of the on-site facilities. Residents will also enjoy the independence which comes with living in an extra care scheme as well as the security of on-site care and support.”

The development has been built in a partnership between Housing 21, Medway Council and Berkeley Homes with funding from the Homes and Communities Agency.

Further information on the open day can be obtained from Carleton Astley, Independent Living Partnerships Manager for Housing 21 on 03007 901132.
