Mikael König leaves his position as President and CEO of HQ
Mikael König has informed the board of directors that he intends to leave his position as President and CEO of HQ AB. The process of recruiting a replacement has been initiated and is expected to be completed during the autumn. Mikael König will remain within the group and will be responsible, from a Swedish base, for developing and strengthening HQ's value proposition and positioning outside the country's borders.
”During my three years as chief executive, the conditions for conducting financial operations have markedly changed as a consequence of new regulations and directives, while the market climate has been highly challenging. This has required a great deal of strength and energy. But HQ holds a special place with me and I look forward to once again being able to develop and reinforce our international offering,” says Mikael König.
HQ continues to have significant potential, not just in Sweden but also abroad. This applies particularly to the areas of Asset Management, which includes HQ's successful funds, and Private Banking. Mikael König will in future be responsible for, from a Swedish base, developing and strengthening HQ's offering and positioning towards international investors.
”During his 17 years at HQ, Mikael has done an extraordinary job, not least with regard to improving our distribution strength and developing the company's value proposition, which is demonstrated by the continuous inflow of new clients and volumes. As Chairman and a shareholder, I would like to offer a warm thank you and I look forward to being able to continue to work with Mikael in his new role,” says Mats Qviberg, Chairman of HQ.
