Taste through a magnificent menu from the new book, Bon Appetit Desserts and have the chance to meet Bon Appetit's Editor-in-Chief

Irving, TX (October 15, 2010) Desserts remain everyone’s favorite indulgence, and there’s nothing with a more sublime selection than the new book, Bon Appetit Desserts: The Cookbook for All Things Sweet and Wonderful (Andrews McMeel Publishing, $40). Barbara Fairchild, editor-in-chief for Bon Appetit magazine and author of the new tome, will personally introduce the 600-recipe book when she visits Dallas in November.
Fairchild will autograph copies of the beautiful, 680-page volume at a special midday tea at the Four Seasons Resort and Club at Las Colinas (www.fourseasons.com/dallas), in The Gallery, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., November 7, 2010. The Four Seasons staff will prepare selections from the new book, as well as savory components for the Sunday event.
The menu will begin with Spicy Pecan & Chicken Salad Canapés; Portobello Mushrooms & Red Bell Pepper Chipotle Aioli Canapés; and Slow Smoked Beef & Horseradish Canapés. Guests will also enjoy Lemon Poppy Seed Scones; Devonshire Cream & Prickly Pear Jelly; and Ginger Pear Crumb Tart. Sweets will include Mascarpone Cheese Cake, Quince Compote; White Chocolate-Raspberry Crème Brulée Tartlets; Mini Spiced Cranberry Bread Pudding; and Mini Chocolate Caramel Pecan Tart. Beverages will include mimosas and freshly brewed teas and coffee.
Anyone passionate about desserts will want to attend to hear Fairchild’s thoughts on baking and pastry craft. “It has been said that the soul of a baker is different from the soul of a cook – and their processes are distinctive, too,” says Fairchild.
You’ll find inside the book a magnificent selection of cakes, cheesecakes, pies, tarts, candies, puddings, soufflés, shortcakes, fruit desserts, ice cream, cookies, holiday desserts and much more. Recipes are easy to follow, with step-by-step illustrations and valuable tips from the Bon Appétit test kitchens.
Tickets to the event are $60, and books will be available for purchase on-site. Tickets to the event, which is produced in partnership with the Four Seasons by Texas Toast Culinary Tours, are available at www.texastoastculinarytours.com. Space is limited.
