Hynion Sverige AB has now also been granted building permit for the new construction of a hydrogen refueling station in the Torsvik logistics area in Jönköping. It is the second of two stations for which Hynion has been granted a grant from the Swedish Energy Agency and which is to be completed in January 2024.

As previously communicated, Hynion Sverige has been granted a grant of SEK 61.4 million from the Swedish Energy Agency to build two hydrogen refueling stations with a capacity of 1,500 kg of hydrogen per day. One station is to be built at the Torsvik logistics area in Jönköping and the other at the truck stop STOP128 in Västerås. Building permits have now been granted for both stations, which are to be completed in January 2024.

Torsvik is Sweden's fastest growing logistics area with a strategic location on the E4, between the capitals of Scandinavia and close to the continent. Several major players, such as IKEA, Elgiganten, DHL and PostNord, have established warehouses here. Hynion's hydrogen refueling station will be built in the southern part of the logistics area and be next to two truck stops.

"Jönköping is a central junction in the traffic flow and we are very happy that a refueling station for hydrogen vehicles is established here. We look forward to lively traffic with hydrogen-powered vehicles as part of the fossil-free transport of the future", says Mats Palmérus, Head of Innovation and Development at Jönköping Energi.

”We are very happy to now be able to speed up the construction work both in Jönköping and in Västerås. Thanks to forward-leaning municipalities such as Jönköping and Västerås, we have the opportunity to establish hydrogen refueling stations in strategically important locations. Here in Torsvik, there are also several companies with significant vehicle fleets that have shown an interest in starting a conversion to fossil-free vehicles and that can help drive the conversion to zero emissions. We are all looking forward to an exciting construction autumn”, says Slavica Djuric, CEO Hynion Sverige AB.
