IAR Embedded Workbench strengthens development of new low-power ARM Cortex-M0+ core from STMicroelectronics
Developers working with the newly released STM32L0 microcontroller series will be able to benefit from its full potential by using IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM
Embedded World, Nuremberg, Germany—February 26, 2014—IAR Systems® announces support for the new ultra-low-power STM32L0 series based on ARM® Cortex®-M0+ from STMicroelectronics®. The support is available using IAR Embedded Workbench® for ARM, recently enhanced with major new features including multicore debugging.
The STM32L0 ultra-low-power series features a 32MHz ARM Cortex-M0+ processor core, a 12-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) that sets a new standard for low power consumption, and a USB FS 2.0 crystal-less solution. These 32-bit general-purpose microcontrollers will significantly extend battery life in a wide range of consumer, health, and industrial applications, including equipment that uses smaller batteries, reducing the size and cost of products such as glucose meters and the rapidly growing range of portable health and fitness products.
“Thanks to IAR Embedded Workbench easy-to-use features and code density efficiency, users will fully enjoy the STM32L0 series MCU possibilities and get the best from this genuine ultra-low-power platform,” said Hakim Jaafar, Product Marketing Manager, Microcontroller Division, STMicroelectronics.
IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM is a set of highly sophisticated and easy-to-use development tools. It integrates the IAR C/C++ Compiler™, assembler, linker, librarian, text editor, project manager, and C-SPY® Debugger in an integrated development environment (IDE). With its advanced optimization technology, the toolchain is able to produce the smallest possible code for ARM Cortex-M0+ microcontrollers.
