2015 EOA Awards: Minsk City Authorities Win
On October 8, in Lisbon, Portugal, the European Outsourcing Association (EOA) announced the winners of the 2015 EOA Awards. The awards ceremony, which followed the EOA Leadership Summit, celebrated the successes of outsourcing buyers and service providers who have demonstrated the best practice in pan-European outsourcing.
IBA Group and its customer, Minsk City Authorities (Minsktrans) were shortlisted in the categories Outsourcing Works – Award for Delivering Business Value in European Outsourcing and Pan-European Buyer of Outsourcing Services of the Year. Both entries featured the Automated Fare Collection (AFC) system that IBA Group implemented in the Minsk public transport.
The winning category for the submission was Pan-European Buyer of Outsourcing Services of the Year and Minsk City Authorities were announced the winner. The competition was very tense because four other contestants competed for the award in this category.

Leontiy Papenok, Director General of Minsktrans, added: “It is an honour for Minsktrans to be selected the best Pan-European Buyer of Outsourcing Services of the Year. The AFC system is a part of our strategy to modify public transport in Minsk. The IBA-developed fare collection system is a result of a cooperative effort between IBA Group and Minsktrans. IBA Group made responsible decisions and introduced numerous innovative solutions when implementing the system. We look forward to new innovative projects that would raise the efficiency of the Minsk public transport and make traveling by Minsk transport a pleasant experience.”
IBA Group developed and implemented the AFC system in 2014. In 2015, it was recognized as the best vertical solution of the year at the European IT & Software Excellence Awards organized by IT Europa.
