IBA Group Attends OWS16
IBA Group attended the Outsourcing World Summit 2016 held from February 14 to February 17 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Organized by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP ®), the summit gathered more than 800 outsourcing customers, providers, advisors, and academics from over 40 countries.
For many of the delegates, the OWS16 was specifically remarkable because IAOP unveiled The 2016 Global Outsourcing 100 and the World's Best Outsourcing Advisors lists at the event. In addition to being among The Global Outsourcing 100 providers, IBA Group was an exhibitor of the summit, an attendee of the key–note presentations and workshops, and a participant of training and networking events.
The exhibition pavilion presented more than 60 organizations and the workshops on the OWS16 program included six rounds of educational track sessions. As a standard–setting organization in the area of outsourcing, IAOP proceeded with its training sessions for Certified Outsourcing Professionals (COP).
Debi Hamill, IAOP CEO, opened the summit with a welcome address. Jagdish Dalal, Chief Advisor and Thought Leadership at IAOP, and Harvey Gluckman, Partner and America's Vertical Leader for Technology at ISG, presented their insights from the latest IAOP's annual member survey. The report revealed that providers of outsourcing services have much more to offer to the buyers of outsourcing services than the buyers are ready to consume. Atul Vashishta, Chairman of NEO Group, conducted a game show devoted to collaborative problem solving.
Numerous discussions at the summit involved disruptive technologies, including social, mobile, analytics, cloud (SMAC), the Internet of Things (IoT), and robotics process automation (RPA). A special round table discussion was devoted to robotics process automation. According to Accenture, “intelligent automation — integrated analytics, machine self–learning and artificial intelligence — is becoming the essential new co–worker for the digital age… freeing people from more mundane tasks to do higher–impact work”.
At the awards luncheon, IAOP honored winners of the Global Excellence in Outsourcing (GES), Global Outsourcing Social Responsibility Impact (GOSRIA), and Leadership Hall of Fame awards.
The COP training offered new ideas on the outcome–based outsourcing and provided practical advice on negotiating outsourcing contracts.
