IBA Group Sponsors IT Education in Belarus
In December 2015, IBA Group provided financial and technical support to the Belarusian State University (BSU) and Minsk State College of Electronics (MSCE). The support included the supply, installation, and configuration of Chancellor, the IBA Group's proprietary software product for EDM and ECM. Thus, IBA Group assists educational institutions to train specialists in workflow management.
According to the agreement for assistance with BSU, IBA Group supplied and implemented the system of electronic document management based on Chancellor comprising the Basic System for 10 competitive licenses and the Workflow application. Currently, BSU uses the system to train the students in the specialty Records Management and within the course Office Automation. Next year, BSU plans to create a special training course in Chancellor.
In line with the agreement with MSCE, IBA Group implemented an EDM system based on Chancellor comprising the Basic System for 20 competitive licenses and the Workflow application. The students of the specialty Records Management and Document Support of Management will use the system within the course Electronic Document Management.
The implementation of Chancellor in the educational institutions and its use as an academic discipline is carried out within the cooperation program between IBA Group and educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus.
In addition, IBA Group donated ten computers to Nota (Note), a digital center in Novopolotsk, Vitebsk region, and ten computers to Stupeni (Steps), an IT academy in Lida, Grodno region.
Nota is a digital center that promotes up–to–date computer technologies among school students and teachers, young people and adults. In 2015, more than 200 students completed 12 training courses in the center, more than 500 teachers improved their computer literacy skills, and 2,500 school children participated in IT contests organized by the center. The digital center also serves as an educational platform for the expansion of the Internet use among the older generation.
The IT academy Steps educates children of preschool age, as well as school children and adults in up–to–date information technologies. In 2015, about 800 students received training at Steps. The academy offers courses in different programming languages, including a course in computer graphics and computer design.
