Winter 2016 Training Season at IBM Competence Center

On February 5, 2016, the students of Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR) who successfully completed training in the IBM course Business Analytics and Introduction to Big Data received IBM certificates. The training and the ceremony were conducted at the IBA–BSUIR Academic Center of IBM Competences located in Minsk, Belarus and within the IBA Group's CSR Program.

The training program consists of two parts:

  • IBM Сognos Business Intelligence. The course is based on the solving of real–life problems.
  • Big Data, IT environment to work with big data. The course includes basic theory of building the systems and IT environment for the processing of structured and unstructured data. In addition, the students study the technology of building NoSQL databases and new file systems.

IBA IT Park employees conducted the training and presented the certificates at the event. When giving the certificates, IBA representatives highlighted the importance of the knowledge gained during the course, and thanked the students for their hard work and responsibility.

The students who successfully completed the course in BI and Big Data were invited to attend the new course Development of Business Applications that logically continues the previous course.

On February 10, 2016, the course in business application development was launched at the IBA–BSUIR Academic Center of IBM Competences. Of 40 applicants, 15 students were selected to attend the course conducted by IBA IT Park.

The training program consists of three parts:

  • Theory and Practice of Data Warehousing (DWH) and ETL
  • DWH Design Based on IBM DB2 and InfoSphere Data Architect
  • ETL Development Based on IBM DataStage, Informatica, and SAP Data Services.
