Acquisition makes IBS market leader in Denmark IBS, one of the global top ten business systems providers, has acquired all shares in the Danish software house DAC-Data A/S. The company, with its main office in Ålborg, has some 110 employees and a yearly revenue of about SEK 100m. The acquisition is expected to have a positive effect on profits per IBS share, already during 1999. "IBS' acquisition of DAC-Data is a logical step, given the on-going restructuring of the market for business systems. Including our present operations, we will have more than 200 employees in Denmark, making us the largest vendor of of business systems based on the IBM AS/400", says Staffan Ahlberg, CEO of the IBS Group. "There will be considerable synergy by increased revenue and lower costs through shared marketing and product development. The acquisition will contribute to growth of IBS' revenue and profits. DAC-Data, a profitable and well reputed company, has some 200 customers and 80 experienced consultants. Operations are mainly centred on Jutland, where IBS will now have a strong postion in the market. IBS is in a phase of expansion with a forecast 1999 revenue of more than SEK 2.7bn. The target is to increase revenue by an average of 35% per year, whilst maintaining satisfactory operating margins. IBS is paying SEK 53m for the DAC-Data shares, which is SEK 30m more than equity. Goodwill will be depreciated over a period of 10 years.
